Anton Kubikov’s biography is comparable to a small musical revolution. Born and raised in Moscow, he was one of the first to show interest in techno and house. Starting his career at Moscow’s first techno clubs he soon became a very popular figure in the rapidly developing underground party-scene. Producing superb, melodious and sophisticated minimal and house, major German record labels soon took notice of him: Salo, Trapez, Traum and Kompakt, just to name a few.

Together with Maxim Milutenko he has been releasing his work on a Cologne label, also as Scsi-9, while stirring up the European techno community ever since.

Luma.Launisch and Ken Hayakawa enjoy turning the world upside down. Their live show “INNENWELTKOSMOS” depicts a reality that does not follow the traditional set-up. Astonishing imagery inspired by Cyrus Teed’s concept of hollow earth and Franz Werfel’s utopic fantasies pulls the wool over the audience’s eyes, explaining the world the way it is not. A vicious circle of existence—perceiving, connecting, absorbing and releasing—illustrated in a multidimensional stage show of projection and music. Like everything that exists, the most peculiar theories never fully die. Teed’s vision of a hollow sphere that contains the continents on its inner surface, with a sun rotating in its center becomes the scene for an astro-mental dissolution of Werfel’s utopia.

While their approach is humorous, the visual stories they come up with often have an underlying socio-critical theme. As they focus on the key-elements of their work, including the battle of the antihero as well as the creation of utopian fairytales, their techniques vary with every project, yet remaining unique: mixing 2D-characters, stop-motion animation, actors, abstract landscapes and 3D-renderings. Tingel Tangel, that is Bernhard Tobola, Simon Riegler and Armin Schmelz. The main focus lies in encouraging people’s social competence and the participants' positive self-respect. Our understanding of social competence is the complex of all personal skills and attitudes that help change individuals, to a more community-based kind of behaviour. Socially competent behaviour combines the aims and activities of individuals with the ethical values and opinions of a group. So the key to a working, non-authoritarian and healthy society therefore is, actually, a person’s sufficient social compentence.

Valence is—strictly speaking—a classic design studio that deals with graphics, illustrations and motion-graphics, connecting those with a world of imaginative and visual stories. However, metaphorically speaking, Michael Zagorski and Markus Raffelsberger aka Valence Visuals create visuals that emerge from a hybrid mixture of digital and analogue techniques: confronting directness, complexity, extensiveness and delicateness gives their visual work its expressiveness.

Having been born in Steyr, Austria, Weise grew up in the countryside. After a couple of quite depressing years in rural pubs and discos, where he was put in jeopardy by the cultural senescence of his surroundings, he took the bull by the horns and moved to Vienna. Following his arrival he discovered his love for 4/4 beats that continue to escort him on his journey—you might call it a never ending love story. His DJ gigs in Vienna enable him to live up his affinity for bass drums and oscillating synthesizer sounds, while running his own platforms puff zack at Morisson Club and the DJ and club concept Bubble Club. His DJ sets go all the way from disco and soul to deep house and Detroit techno.
